Video: NASA tested water in space that was shot upwards from a Moon of Saturn – JWST sees water plume in space coming from Saturn’s moon Enceladus

[This is fascinating. The Cassini mission had instruments which analysed the water. Jan]

Cassini’s Flybys (2005–2017)
NASA’s Cassini spacecraft made multiple flybys through the plumes.

Cassini carried instruments (like the Cosmic Dust Analyzer and Ion and Neutral Mass Spectrometer) that directly sampled the ejected material.

Findings:
The plumes contain water vapor, ice grains, salts, silica, and organic molecules.

Evidence suggests hydrothermal activity on the ocean floor — similar to Earth’s deep-sea vents.

This makes Enceladus one of the prime candidates for potential extraterrestrial life in our solar system.
