Trans World Airlines was America's second unofficial flag carrier behind Pan Am, built by Howard Hughes into one of the biggest names in aviation. Then Carl Icahn took it private in 1988, stripped its most valuable routes, and walked away from its bankruptcy with the right to resell TWA's own tickets at 45% off for the next eight years, a deal that reportedly cost the airline over $100 million annually. TWA never really recovered before American Airlines absorbed it in 2001. The old TWA Flight Center at JFK, designed by Eero Saarinen, is now the TWA Hotel, and it's one of the only physical pieces of the airline still standing. #Aviation #AirlineHistory #TWAHotel #CorporateRaider #AvGeek

NB: This video was banned off Youtube in December 2016. This is part 1 of the fabulous little book: The Great Jewish Masque, written in 1936. This little book makes a fascinating study (dont miss parts 5 & 6). The mysterious author of this was EXCEPTIONALLY well-versed in the history of the Middle East & the Jews. (Modern scientific research confirms most of what he wrote but well return to this later in the series).
